Nanutarra Munjina Road Project
In 2012 ICRG was awarded the design and construction works on the Nanutarra Munjina Road in the Pilbara, as part of site access works to the FMG Solomon mine site.
The scope was to realign the vertical and horizontal curves, and widen the existing road to ensure oversized modules could access the Solomon mine site. Upon completion of this upgrade, ICRG was awarded the maintenance of this 140km section of road until Sept 2017. Scope includes grading of the existing roads to an acceptable grade and wide, delivery of gravel by trucks from surrounding borrow pits, spreading and rolling of delivered material, and seasonal road maintenance.
Through a joint arrangement with Main Roads and FMG, the road is maintained to MRWA standards through FMG as the Client. ICRG have maintained between 50% and 65% Aboriginal Employment throughout the duration of this contract.
